Nottawasaga Pines Secondary School Philosophy
At Nottawasaga Pines Secondary School, we believe that school is the cornerstone of the community and therefore are very respectful of the role we play in the lives of our students, families and the community. Developing a strong partnership with the Township of Essa will help ensure success for both students and the community.
Our mission is to provide all students with effective, engaging and relevant learning experiences and supports in a safe and healthy environment in order to prepare them for success in the 21st century. Nottawasaga Pines Secondary School is a fully accessible school, designed to serve all students in an inclusive environment without barriers to student success and achievement.
Academic programs will be student-centered, experiential, holistic, authentic, constructivist, democratic, project based, and challenging with a definite focus on interdisciplinary courses of study. Nottawasaga Pines Secondary School will offer a variety of multi-credit integrated courses focusing on themes, issues, topics and student experiences. These 2 and 4 credit integrated course packages will be specifically designed to reduce instructional fragmentation by increasing relevance and authenticity through a more holistic design.
